Plattsburgh's interim police chief is trying to get his old job back. Nathan 'Bud' York is a retired State Police investigator who served three terms as Warren County sheriff. WNYT-TV reports that he's running a write-in campaign to unseat Republican Sheriff Jim LaFarr this fall. York was appointed interim Plattsburgh City Police chief in early 2022. Plattsburgh Mayor Chris Rosenquest says York informed him of his plans to run for sheriff, and will remain interim Plattsburgh police chief until further notice.
