Aug 25, 2023 — The tension is building across New York over how to handle more than 100,000 migrants who've arrived in New York City over the last year. On a smaller scale, Plattsburgh and Clinton County have been dealing with this issue for years. Thousands of migrants have traveled through here on their way to seek asylum in Canada. And since the unofficial border crossing at Roxham Road was closed earlier this year, many have found themselves back at Plattsburgh's bus station . A nonprofit called Plattsburgh Cares has been helping the asylum seekers through it all.
